PDP MLA Pulwama injured

Srinagar, July 18: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) MLA from Pulwama, Mohammad Khalil Bandh, was critically injured last night after his vehicle turned turtle in Prichoo area of Pulwama district.
Police said that that at around 1.10 am, Bandh was on way to his home when his vehicle met with an accident.
Sources said that people at Prichoo in Pulwama were protesting against the police raids and as the driver of the MLA’s car saw the protesters from a distance, he did the U-turn and lost control of the vehicle due to over speed and it turned turtle.
Bandh was injured and he was immediately evacuated to 92 Base Hospital of Army here at BB Cantonment Srinagar where he is undergoing treatment. He has fracture in his hip.
Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti visited Bandh at Base Hospital and inquired about his health. His condition is said to be stable.
An official spokesman said here that the official vehicle of the legislator, Mohammad Khalil Bandh met with an accident in Pulwama town during the intervening night of July 17 and 18 while Bandh was travelling to his residence from Srinagar to Pulwama.
The legislator was rescued by the locals and shifted to the hospital where his condition is stated to be stable. “The MLA has sustained fracture in his hip and is being treated at a local hospital,” he said.
