PDP is day-dreaming: Sadhotra

JAMMU, June 29: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is in the habit of day-dreaming and creating hype of hollow slogans, which are never fulfilled, resulting in frustration of people. Mufti led Government’s agenda was detrimental for the people of the State and the country as a whole, said senior National Conference leader and Member Legislative Council, Ajay Sadhotra while addressing a public meeting at Nai Basti (Gajansoo) in Block Marh.
History will write that mufti led Government institutionalized corruption in the State. Now the people of the State are fully aware of negligent behaviour of PDP leadership and its desperate attempt to regain power that seems to be very impossible, said Sadhotra.
Senior National Conference leader asked the people to beware of hollow and hyped slogans of PDP and involve themselves in day to day developmental activities of the National Conference-Congress Coalition Government under the dynamic leadership of Omar Abdullah.
The MLC asked the PDP leadership to let PDP come out with a clear paper on empowerment of Panchayats instead of clamoring that panchayats have not been empowered, as PDP had dissolved Panchayats in midway during Mufti led Government.
All the elected institutions were eroded and undermined during Mufti led Government. A Bill was introduced to cut short term of Panchayats, urban institutions were deprived of funds and mockery of District Development Boards was made. The funds were provided on political considerations, Sadhotra said.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Raghbir Singh, Puran Chand Sharma, Tara Chand Sharma and Sarpanchs Keemat Lal, Bhushan Sharma and Piar Singh.
