Pay personal attention to basic needs of people: Raina to councillors

JAMMU, May 10: Bharatiya Janata Party, (BJP) today organised a meeting of its councillors representing various wards of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), here at party Headquarter, Trikuta Nagar.
BJP State president, Ravinder Raina chaired the meeting, while former Deputy CM, Kavinder Gupta, Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta, BJP State general secretaries, Dr. Narinder Singh, Yudhvir Sethi, Deputy Mayor, Purnima Sharma and Chairman, Baldev Singh Bilawaria also addressed it.
Ravinder Raina, while addressing the meeting, asked the JMC councillors to work in complete liaison with all the departments to boost development in their respective wards. He asked the councillors to give individual attention to all the basic needs of public like electricity, drinking water supply etc. He assured them of full organizational support in this regard.

Raina, said that Jammu being the Centre point of all the social and economical activities in the region, as such, all eyes are on the city’s infrastructure, development, maintenance etc, for which JMC and its elected councillors have to assume a greater role.
Kavinder Gupta, in his address, cherished that after so many efforts, BJP has been successful in conducting local body elections in the State. He regretted that democracy could not percolate to grass root level in the State due to undemocratic role of previous Governments especially NC and Congress who did not want the participation of grass root level workers to run the democratic institutions in the State and entire power should vest in the hands of senior leaders belonging to few dynasties.
Advising the councillors to do work to their fullest within their available resources, he asked them to be ready for the herculean tasks necessary for making Jammu a smart city.
Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta, in his address, spoke at length about various issues raised by the councillors regarding public welfare. He also appreciated concern of councillors in respect to their ward residents. Talking on all the developmental issues in the areas falling under JMC, he said that Corporation needs to run like a family, understanding and fulfilling necessities of everyone.
