UDHAMPUR, Sept 5: A community hall and compound wall in village Ballian, constructed by 123 Infantry Battalion (TA) Grenadiers, was inaugurated today by Pawan Gupta, Minister of State for Finance and Information Technology.
The construction was made under Operation Sadhbhawana by incurring an amount of Rs eight lacs.
Speaking on the occasion, Pawan Gupta conveyed his greetings on 50th anniversary of India’s victory in 1965 Indo-Pak war and recalled the heroic role ever played by the Indian Army in battles as well as in fight against terrorism,.
He also appreciated the army role under `Operation Sadhbhawna’ which has been proved very useful in bridging the gap between Army and local people. Mr Gupta conveyed his special thanks to GOC Northern Command, Lt Gen D S Hooda and 71-Sub Area Commander GOC Maj Gen Anil Partap Rai for their un-tired efforts to ensure liberal funding for the projects.
Col G S Chudawat, Sarpanch Manmohan, social worker Suresh Dixit and Rohit Sethi were also present on the occasion.
