Srinagar, Apr 23: A patient was today denied ambulance from the GMC, Baramulla while the attendants of the patient alleged misbehaviour by the CMO Baramulla on being asked the reasons behind the denial.
Irshad Ahmad of Garkot Uri had to take his wife back home after she was discharged from the hospital.
He said to Excelsior that earlier, he was told to wait till a few more patients are discharged so that the ambulance would make a single journey. “However, I was kept waiting and the ambulance was denied to me,” he said.
He was left with no option but to hire a cab so that he could take his patient home. “The CMO misbehaved and categorically denied the ambulance service,” he said.
The aggrieved attendant urged the Lieutenant Governor, Director of Health Services and DC Baramulla to intervene in the matter and take strict action against the official.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar told Excelsior action will follow in the matter. “I have taken note; the matter is being inquired into and action shall be taken against the staff who is at fault,” he said.
