GUNA, MP, Apr 4: Senior Congress leader and former Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia today launched a scathing attack on the Centre for permitting an investigation team from Pakistan to probe into the terrorist attack on Pathankot airbase.
“For the first time in the country’s history, an investigation team comprising an Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) officer was given permission to probe into a sensitive matter such as Pathankot terrorist attack,” Mr Scindia told media here.
“The move has accorded recognition that the terrorist attack was caused by non-state actors and that the Pakistan Government was not involved in it. On the contrary, the previous United Progressive Alliance Government had held the ISI responsible for Mumbai attacks,” he said.
Placing the Centre in the cross-hairs for failing its electoral promises, he said the regime has got mired in myriad problems confronting the country and is fanning issues such as religious nationalism instead of addressing fundamental issues.
“The Centre is imposing the ideology of the Bharatiya Janata Party in universities. Action is taken against Rohith Vemula and Kanhaiya Kumar while real culprits are left,” said Mr Scindia.
Commenting on the Uttarakhand political crisis, he said the Centre has committed murder of democracy. Instead of allowing floor test, the Centre imposed the President’s rule. (UNI)
