RAMNAGAR, Dec 8: General secretary, Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC), RS Pathania, conducted a tour of far-off villages of Ramnagar namely Katora, Badhal, Incha, Sulan, Prey, Kela, etc, where he met people from various cross sections of the society, who projected issues and problems faced by them.
After going through the public problems, Pathania sought immediate disbursement of land-compensation for acquired lands and houses for Sulan-Prey, Majua-Rasein and Sulan-Kela roads under PMGSY and early initiation of work on Phase-II of Sulan-Prey road under PMGSY.
While accusing the State Government of having double standards on disbursement of land-compensation, Pathania stated that in cases where lands of Government departments, may it be pipes of PHE Department or electricity lines of PDD, are to be acquired, displaced or affected during road-formations, the said departments do not allow PMGSY Department to use even a single shovel unless compensation is deposited in their accounts. And when it comes to carving roads through agricultural lands of farmers, compensation for acquired lands and demolished houses remains unpaid till years and years.
People at Badhal told Pathania that they have to travel as long as one-two kilometers to fetch a pitcher of drinking water. Pathania promised them to convey their problems before concerned authorities and get them redressed at the earliest.
