RAMNAGAR, Mar 1: Ranbir Singh Pathania, spokesperson BJP, while interacting with people hailing from Garh Samna Banj, Sanote, Beral, Panjian, Babay, Sarana, Been, Laa, Chakka villages Dehma (Majalta) sought formulation of special sub-plan for various far-flung pockets of J & K.
In a statement issued to press later Pathania said it was in the late 80s and early 90s that area development officers were posted in the far flung areas of Dudu-Basantgarh, Bani, Bhaderwah, Badnota, Mahore etc. It was due to the fact that the developmental parameters of these areas were nose-diving at due to administrative neglect. Nonetheless, only with the posting of officers without any fiscal support or developmental push resulted in somewhat deflation of the very intent and object of the scheme.
Pathania informed that he had tabled a resolution on the floor of the Assembly where the Government had undertaken to formulate a special sub-plan in addition to the district plan with a view to spurring up developmental activity in hitherto neglected areas. Given the diverse trajectory of developmental needs of these areas, he further called upon the Governor-led administration to immediately create a provision for special sub-plan for economically and socially backward areas craving for provision of basic living facilities since times immemorial.
While responding to local demands, he said that it was in his tenure that ages old demands of the people of the area – metalled roads for Garh Samna Banj, Chore Panjian, Motu. Nokain, Babay, Marialaa, Rajundi, Laa, Noul have been fulfilled. It was during his tenure that 100-bedded Girls Hostel has come up at Garh Samna Banj which is being built at an estimated cost of four crore and shall be a game-changer in facilitating girls’ education in the area.
Pathania reiterated his resolve for providing metalled road connectivity to each and every habitation of Ramnagar constituency. He said that roads are the key-indicators of development. Although, Ramnagar is a far-flung area with a serpentine road network scattered throughout the constituency. However when he was elected as a Legislator, there was not even a single PMGSY road which was metalled or blacktopped. Within a short stint blacktopping work on more than half a score of roads has been done and they stand dedicated to the public and work on other half score of roads (for blacktopping) is underway and is in final stages of completion.
