UDHAMPUR, Aug 13: Following forcible marriage of a 13-year old girl with a man of 35-years in Ramnagar, Police has arrested parents as well husband of the minor.
According to the police, a case FIR number 95/2020, under section 9/10 Prohibition of Child Marriage Act 2006, has been registered in this connection at Police Station Ramnagar .
The matter came into light on complain of the local Sarpanch following which investigation officer visited the place of occurrence i.e village Katwalt and prepared sketch besides recording statements of the people.
After collecting all related documentary evidences and establishing offence against Daya Ram (Husband), son of Santokhu of Gagote, Ramnagar and the minor girl’s parents, Rajkumar (father), son of Fina, resident of Katwalt and mother Sushma, Police arrested the trio for solemnizing marriage of a minor girl. Police team, led by SHO Ramnagar Jasbinder Singh and SDPO G R Bhardwaj made the arrest.
