REASI, Mar 23: Param Football Club emerged winners of the Football tournament by defeating Sainik FC, organized by Police at Sports Stadium Katra under Civic Action Program (CAP), here today.
The tournament is organized with an aim to provide a platform to the youth of the district and to engage them in sports activities.
The football tournament was inaugurated on March 15 by SSP Reasi Amit Bhasin, accompanied by SDPO Katra Surinder Singh and SHO Katra Nishant Gupta, while the chief guest of the closing ceremony was PO ICDS Renu Kumari-JKAS and the guest of honour was SDPO Katra Surinder Singh.
They witnessed the final match, wherein Param FC registered an emphatic victory over Sainik FC. Rishi of Param FC was declared as man of the match.
During the tournament, six football clubs from Jammu zone (Param FC, Sainik FC, Katra FC, Udhampur City FC, Pegasus FC and Reasi FC) participated in the event and played five league matches on knockout basis.
The chief guest of the closing ceremony distributed the prizes among the winner runner up, and technical officials.
