JAMMU : After a brief lull, Pakistan today again resorted to an unprovoked firing along the international border in
Samba and Kathua sectors.
“There was peace along the IB since Saturday night but Pakistani Rangers again violated the ceasefire and fired heavily on forward Border Outposts in Samba and Kathua Sectors,” official
sources here said.
Pakistan Rangers, this afternoon at around 1345 hrs, started targeting BSF BoPs in Samba and Kathua areas, sources said. “More than dozen BoPs were targeted in the cross border firing,” sources said.
The BSF troops also retaliated effectively to the firing, sources said adding, “no injury or loss of life was reported in exchange of fire.”
“Due to dense fog, the visibility along 200-km long stretch of
border is very low. We are maintaining vigil and the troops are also on alert,” an official said.
