JAMMU, Nov 21: To mark the celebration of Communal harmony week, Dean Students’ Welfare University of Jammu in collaboration with NSS campus units University of Jammu organised a painting competition on the theme ‘Communal Harmony and National Integration’.
The purpose of the event was to spread the message of peace and harmony through art.
Students from various departments of the University participated in the event. The paintings were evaluated by Dr Sanjay Sharma from the Department of Environmental Sciences and Dr Sanjana Kaul from the Department of Biotechnology who acted as the adjudicators for the competition. Meenakshi Thakur, Department of Zoology bagged first plce, while Rajani Verma, Department of Library and Information Science won 2nd place and the 3rd position went to Mehak Mahajan from the Department of Commerce.
Prominent among others who were present on the occasion included Prof Yash Pal Sharma chairperson, Campus cultural committee, Prof Anupama Vohra, co-chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, Dr Satinder Kumar, Director The Law School and coordinator NSS, and Dr Sapna Sangra, former programme officer NSS.
Dr Seema Rohmetra, programme officer NSS and coordinator Gandhi Peace Foundation Jammu Chapter along with Dr Meghna Dhar, programme officer NSS were the faculty in-charge of the event who coordinated the event.
Ifra Kak, Cultural Incharge, Dean Students Welfare conducted the proceedings of the event.
