The package employees with banners and placards in their hands demanding their immediate relocation to Jammu expressed dismay over the order issued by Sales Tax Department, Kashmir who has specially pinpointed PM package employees in the order.
The protesting employees said that package and other minority employees fled from the Valley because of fear psychosis and security concerns as 75 percent families out of 5000 families of Kashmiri Pandits who were provided jobs under return and rehabilitation scheme are living on rental basis. The speakers while addressing the protestors said in support of their genuine demands they stared agitation from June 14 at Relief Commissioner’s Office Jammu.

They said earlier the protest was launched on May 12 in Kashmir after the target killing of their colleague Rahul Bhat at his working place Tehsil Office, Chadoora Budgam. Suddenly target killings of religious minorities in Valley got intensified by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists resulting the more killings of employees Rajni Bala and Vijay Kumar at their working place, followed by recent killing of Sunil Bhat on August 16 at his orchid in the Valley. This has completely shattered the employees belonging to minorities in the Valley.
They said that their salaries have been stopped by their DDOs of their own who are indirectly supporting the pen Terrorism for the KP employees. They appealed the LG Manoj Sinha to intervene into the matter.
They said 75 percent out of 5000 employees who have been provided jobs are living in rented accommodations and were totally feeling insecure there.
The protesting employees also made an appeal to Prime Minister, Home Minister L.G of J&K Union Territory to address their demands on priority.
The reiterated relocation outside Valley or deploy/attach them Relief Commissioners Office or any other offices in Jammu, revoking of unconstitutional bond signed by employees under S.R.O 412 which emphasizes bonded labour, delinking of rehabilitation from the PM Package and declare it as economic package till all conditions of return and rehabilitation plans are met.
They also demanded that rules of transfers, promotions and other service related matter of PM Package employees be made at par with general employees of Union Territory of J&K and passing of standing instruction by Administrative Department to all D.D.OS of Valley to release salaries of all PM /Non-Pm Package employees and not to force an employee to join duties in Valley and not to relieve these employees without their physical appearance, till dialogues between Government and employees reaches to a logical conclusion.
