Over Rs 9 lakh fine recovered from SOP violators

Srinagar, June 26: Police today said to have recovered over Rs 9 lakh as fine more than 7000 COVID-19 SOP violators across Kashmir in the last 24 hours while 19 persons were also arrested.
“Continuing its efforts to curb the outbreak of 2nd wave of Coronavirus, during the last 24 hours Police have arrested 19 persons, lodged 01 FIR and also realized fine to the tune of Rs 9,21,050 from 7027 people throughout the Kashmir valley for violating the various guidelines/rules/SOPs regarding Covid-19. Besides, 10 vehicles were also seized in Shopian for violating Covid norms,” police said.
Police said that the special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines continued throughout all the districts of Kashmir Valley to ensure that people adhere to SOPs envisaged by the government to curb the COVID-19 pandemic.
Police have requested the general public to cooperate with the Police in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs for their safety.
