More organizations express concern over plight of border people

JAMMU, Aug 25: More organizations and leaders have expressed grave concern over plight of border people and accused the Government for not taking adequate steps for their betterment.
Narinder Kashyap, MP and National general secretary BSP accompanied by State president of the Party Tulsi Dass Langeh, Rattan Lal Chargotra, State vice president, Rattan Kumar Bhagat, Ajaib Singh Mottan, State general secretaries and other leaders visited Government Higher Secondary School R S Pura and G H School Salehar Bishnah where the border migrants have taken a refugee.
The migrants informed them that they face war like situation on borders and under the compelling circumstances they left their houses, property and cattle and migrated to safer places temporarily. They said this practice is continuing since 1947. Besides border shelling these people faced three wars with Pakistan in 1947, 1965 and 1971.
They said they have submitted a proposal to Government for allotment of five marlas of land at safer places but same was not conceded till date. The BSP leaders demanded construction of 5000 flats for border people to provide relief to them once for all.
Senior Congress leader Charak leader and Incharge Youth Wing Dogra Sadar Sabha, Jammu today said that anguish is brewing among border migrants of Bishnah Constituency who have been shifted to different schools and Government buildings due to lack of necessary arrangements.
He said as a result of heavy shelling and firing from across the border these people have been forced to live a nomadic life.
He said the border people wanted a permanent solution to their problem.
He said former Minister and Member CWC Gulchain Singh Charak has already left for Srinagar to take up the issue with Chief Minister and legislators asking them to put in their best efforts in mitigating the problems of the border people.
