JAMMU, Feb 24: Making a scathing attack on Congress and holding it responsible for three decade long Kashmir turmoil, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president, Amit Shah today said that only his party led by Narendra Modi can provide a strong and stable Government in the country and give befitting reply to Pakistan, its sponsored terrorism and take the country forward.
Addressing a mammoth public rally here today, Shah said the country is faced with various security related problems and only Narendra Modi can ensure security to the country and rid it of these problems. “Modi is the only leader who can take country forward and make it a world power”, he added.
Shah said Modi has capability and capacity to give a befitting reply to Pakistan while the Gathbandhan has leadership crisis and they are not in a position to give a stable leadership to the country at this crucial juncture. He said it is not known who is the leader of Gathbandhan or ‘Maha Milawat’. “The conglomerate which has no leader can’t be called as a Gathbandhan but they are only for promotion of dynastic rule”, he added.
Sounding the election bugle, Shah said Modi is a farsighted leader who works 18 hours a day and he appealed to people to give him a decisive mandate in coming Lok Sabha elections this year also.
He said since the Modi Government came to power in 2014, it gave a befitting reply to Pakistan’s misadventures and this Government did not compromise with terror but showed zero tolerance towards it. The Prime Minister reiterated his resolve in this regard many times during last five years, he added.
Shah, while seeking support of people in the coming Lok Sabha elections in the State, asked them to take a strong pledge to continue their fight against terrorism to weed it out completely.
The BJP national president said it was the result of foreign policy of Modi Government that Pakistan has been isolated at international level. “We have resolved that terrorists and extremists will not be allowed to raise a question mark on national unity and integrity but given a befitting reply”, he added.
Paying glowing tributes to 44 CRPF jawans who attained martyrdom in Pulwama terrorist attack, Shah said their sacrifices will not be allowed to go waste and those who are responsible for this cowardice act will be dealt strongly. “These soldiers though coming from different states like UP, J&K, Punjab, Kerala, TN etc are sons of India and entire nation is solidly with their families,” he added.
Amit Shah said BJP is committed to national unity and integrity and it will not leave an inch of J&K which is the integral part of the country.
“We have led the struggle since 1947 for total integration of J&K with India under the leadership of Pt Prem Nath Dogra and Dr Shayama Prasad Mookherjee, the party ideologue laid down his life on the soil of the J&K so we will not compromise on an inch of the land of the State”, he added.
Amit Shah, while unfolding the policies and programmes of Modi Government said that BJP wants that every illegal immigrant from Kashmir to Kanyakumari is thrown out of the country following the Assam model.
He said the Rohingyas who have intruded in Jammu will not be allowed to stay here as J&K is not the dharamshalla where every one will come and stay.
Lambasting former Chief Minister and National Conference (NC) president, Dr Farooq Abdullah for his statement saying nothing Modi Government did for J&K, Shah questioned him and asked what he and his party gave to State and its people in the last 55 years. “We are here in the country and don’t go for vacations in London,” he said while making a reference towards the NC chief. Shah said the youth of Kashmir should ask these leaders where their children are studying. “They are studying outside country on public exchequer’s money”, he added.
The BJP chief said that he was not here to take account from Dr Abdullah or from PDP president, Mehbooba Mufti. But they are accountable to people of the State. He said what the NC, Congress and PDP Governments could not do during 55 years, BJP did in five years for the State so far as its development is concerned.
Lambasting Rahul Gandhi for accusing BJP for Kashmir crisis, Amit Shah said it was great grand father of Rahul Gandhi, Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru who was responsible for the same. He questioned that who asked the Indian army not to advance by ordering ceasefire and took the Kashmir issue to UN?
Shah said it was Nehru who did not allow the then Home Minster, Sardar Patel to interfere in Kashmir. Patel succeeded in merger of Junagarh and Hyderabad with India while Nehru created the Kashmir problem by not allowing Patel to interfere in its affairs, he added.
The BJP national president, said five years of BJP Government at Centre are near completion, and in these five years, lot of developmental projects were taken up in hand for the State. Some of them have been completed while work on others is going on with full speed. He said those projects and schemes which where not initiated in the State by coalition Government have been launched by Governor’s administration.
Earlier, the State was ignored in development and Ladakh and Jammu regions faced total discrimination. The Congress and NC governments did injustice with these two regions of the State and it is BJP which opened the doors of progress and development for these two regions also, he added.
Making a scathing attack on Congress, NC and PDP, Shah said that these are dynastic parties and it was for the first time in 2014 that the people of State including Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh gave support to BJP and elected three MPs from the State. This opened the doors for development of J&K, he added.
He, while highlighting the development projects and schemes launched by Modi Government for the State, said Rs 1,20,000 crore Central assistance was provided for different schemes for the State and gave account of all the projects and schemes launched by Modi Government for the welfare of the people of the State as well as for its development.
BJP national vice-president Avinash Rai Khanna, BJP national general secretary (Org.) Ram Lal accompanied Shah. The rally was also addressed by all the senior BJP leaders from the J&K led by president, Ravinder Raina, Union MoS in PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh, former Dy. CM Dr. Nirmal Singh, former Dy. CM, Kavinder Gupta, State general secretary (Org.), Ashok Kaul, former Minister, Sat Sharma, MP (Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma, MP (Rajya Sabha), Shamsher Singh Manhas”, Mayor JMC, Chander Mohan Gupta, MLC, Ashok Khajuria, State general secretaries, Dr. Narinder Singh, Yudhvir Sethi, Sunil Sharma, MLC Vikram Randhawa and others.

Ram Lal, national general secretary (Org) threw light on the forthcoming party programmes. He said that today the BJP is the need of the nation for the development, peace and stability.
He said that the dedicated workers of BJP will lay the foundation for strong BJP governments both in the Centre and the State.

The proceedings were conducted by Yudhvir Sethi, party general secretary.
