SAMBA, July 15: One person died after his scooty bearing registration number JK02U-2884 was hit by Ashoka Leyland tipper bearing registration number JK21A-3178 near Rahya Morh (Jakh) on Jammu-Pathankot National Highway under the jurisdiction of Vijaypur Police Station in Samba district this afternoon.
After receiving information a team from Vijaypur Police Station reached the spot and took the dead body under its custody and later sent it to Government Community Health Centre Ramgarh for postmortem. The body will be handed over to family after legal formalities.
The deceased has been identified as Ratan Singh Bagal, 70, S/O Teg Singh of village Rahya, Vijaypur in Samba district,. The Vijaypur Police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law and started investigation. The police also arrested the driver of the tipper and seized the vehicle.
