RAJOURI, June 26: A bike rider was knocked to death by a Tata Magic vehicle in Sunderbani area while two youth were injured in accidents in district Rajouri today.
A police spokesman said that a without number motor-cycle was hit by a Tata Magic vehicle No. JK-11/ 9362 near Thanda Pani bridge in Sunderbani today. Two youth were moving on the bike from Sunderbani to Kalakote.
While one of them was killed on the spot, another with serious injuries was shifted to Sunderbani hospital. The deceased was identified as Rajiv Kumar (21), son of Mohan Lal, resident of Tredu in Kalakote. The body of the deceased was handed over to the family after post-mortem and performing legal formalities by police. The injured Arvind Kumar (19), son of Ramesh Kumar (18), resident of Kalakote, was later referred to Jammu.
Meanwhile, one Showkat Ali-19, son of Mohd Rashid, resident of Peeri in Darhal constituency was injured when a bus and truck collided at Thalka, on Jammu-Poonch highway this afternoon. He was admitted to Rajouri hospital. The police has taken cognizance.
