One dies, 48 test +ve in Jammu, 97 in Valley

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/LEH, Aug 1: One person died of COVID-19 and 48 others tested positive in Jammu region, 97 in Kashmir and 10 in the Union Territory of Ladakh today.
A 75-year-old man hailing from Bhaderwah tehsil of Doda district, presently putting up in Udhampur, died of COVID-19 and co-morbidities in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu today taking Corona toll across the region to 2143.
Out of 48 new cases, 14 were reported in Doda district, 13 in Jammu, seven Reasi (all travelers), four Kishtwar, three each in Udhampur and Rajouri, two Poonch and one each in Kathua and Ramban districts. Samba district didn’t report any COVID positive cases today.
Thirty five persons today recovered from the virus.
Jammu region now has 1,21,805 Corona cases. Among them, 467 are active positives while 1,19,195 have recovered from the virus and there have been 2143 casualties.
Among 10 fresh positive cases in Ladakh, nine were reported in Leh and one in Kargil district.
Ladakh now has 56 active positive cases.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today reported 97 fresh cases of COVID-19.
Srinagar reported 32 cases, Baramulla 25, Budgam 9, Pulwama 3, Kupwara 4, Anantnag 5, Bandipora 2, Ganderbal 13 and Kulgam 4.
Moreover, 109 more COVID-19 patients in the last 24 hours have recovered including 74 from Kashmir. With this, there are now 1211 active cases including 744 in Kashmir.
