JAMMU, Feb 11: BJYM State president, Ravinder Raina slammed Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah for his recent comments on the hanging of Afzal Guru in which Mr Abdullah said, “It was a tragedy that Guru was not allowed to meet his family before he was hanged and not allowed a “final farewell”.
Mr Raina was addressing a meeting of the newly elected office bearers of BJYM here today.
He said that the Chief Minister himself is trying to provoke the sentiments of the people of Kashmir and playing politics by questioning the whole judicial system of the country. CM’s concern should be unemployed youth rather than Afzal Guru. I can’t understand why Chief Minister is advocating on behalf of a terrorist. I would suggest the Chief Minister to focus and concentrate on the other important issues of the youth of the state. The youth in the state are facing severe crisis like unemployment, health care system and corruption. It is pathetic that the Chief Minister is trying to cash the death of Afzal Guru.
Mr. Raina asked the office bearers to rise above the caste, regional and religious politics. He said the whole country knows the truth of Afzal Guru who met his fate and now is the time to fight together for the more serious enemies like unemployment, false education system etc.
He also accused PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti of also playing worst type of politics on Afzal Guru issue. “There can be nothing worst of asking dead body of terrorist to be handed over to his family as demanded by Mehbooba’’, he added.
