JAMMU, Sept 24: The Socio Welfare International Society (SWIS) in collaboration with the North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC) Patiala, Ministry of Culture (GoI) organised two cultural programmes in Kashmiri Pandit Colonies at Jagti township and Muthi TRT on September 22 and September 23, respectively.
Both programmes began with a live Ganesh Astuti, which featured a mesmerising performance by the performers .Beautiful songs for ceremonies penned by Kashmir’s greatest poet, Late. Pt. P.N. Koul described the heyday of Kashmiri Pandits’ celebration of their customary rituals.
The main event featured live singing and dancing. The show’s drama segment impressed audience since it highlighted the programme in a sardonic and humorous way. The occasional change of costumes and props by the artists gives the programme warmth. Around 30 artists were involved in the programme.
Kumar Ji Raina, zonal officer, Muthi attended as the chief guest who said that, “the rites, rituals, and customs that permeate every aspect of Kashmiri Pandits social and cultural life continue to serve as important markers of their identity.
Dr. Kuldeep Swadeshi, renowned Music Director and actor, attended the event as the guest of honour. He was impressed by the audience’s participation and the quality of the programme.
The Socio-Welfare International Society is doing a fantastic job of educating the younger generations about the culture and tradition, which is on the verge of extinction, said J K Koul Bezaan, a renowned persona in the field of art.
While speaking at the event, the well-known social activist and poet P.K. Raj expressed his gratitude to the organisation for hosting the fantastic programme.
Pradeep Pandita, chairman of Socio-Welfare International Society proposed the vote of thanks.
He complimented to all of the attendees, including prominent figures in the field of art, like Gopi Krishan Bahar, Jatinder Jotshi, social activist Pintoo Ji, Sunil Pandita, Priya Bhat, and Naveen Goswani. Renowned artists DaizyBazaz, Rajni Bahar, Vinay Pandita, Anmol Raj, Chandra Dhar, Rahul Pandita, Ravi Dhar, Neetu Dhar, Pooja Bhat, and other well-known artists were among those who took part in the programme.
