JAMMU, Mar 22: J&K National Trade Union Front, representing State Government employees, casual labours and ICDS workers organized 5th state level conference here today.
Minister for Animal Husbandry, Abdul Gani Kohli was the chief guest while MLA Devinder Singh Rana from NC, the guest of honour. During the day long convention, several resolutions were adopted with regard to the demands of casual labours, Anganwari workers/ helpers and temporary workers of Sheep Husbandry Department. It was stressed upon the Government to settle the pending issues of the workers of these categories.
While addressing the large gathering, Kohli assured the delegates that State Government was positive on the genuine demands of the casual labours and temporary/ consolidated workers and has already taken several steps for the regularization of their services. He said implementation of 7th Pay Commission is one of these steps taken for the welfare of the employees.
He pointed out that Rehbar-e-Sheep scheme is also being launched for the Diploma holders of SHD. Regarding honorarium of Anganwari workers/ helpers he would take up the issue with the concerned department, Kohli added.
NC leader Devinder Singh Rana assured full support for the genuine issues of the working class. He said Anganwari workers were on the road since long and Government must consider their demands. He also assured to take up their issues with the concerned authorities.
Earlier, Mohd Gafoor Dar, state president of the Front projected the issues of the working class and said many others are on the agitational path. He demanded enhancement of honorarium of Anganwari workers/ helpers at par with Delhi state, implementation of 7th Pay Commission report, enhancement of Medical allowance of employees and pensioners, regularization of all categories of casual labours/ temporary workers, holding of DPC of various cadre and release of pending wages of the daily wager workers of various departments.
