JAMMU Nov 22: To lodge protest against National Testing Agency decision to conduct NET examination in December 2018 through online mode and allocating examination centres outside the State for aspirants of Jammu division, National Secular Forum today held a protest demonstration.
Led by NSF president Dr Vikas Sharma, the protesters raised slogans against NTA questioning its unmindful decision, inimical to the interests of students.
Criticizing the decision of NTA to allocate examination centres to students of Jammu outside the State owing to non availability of computer centres here, Dr Vikas disclosed that students of Jammu have been allotted centres at Jalandhar, Mohali, Amritsar, Dalhouse road and in Kashmir division.
He pointed out that how was it possible to appear in this examination for the students of Jammu in the Valley where the weather conditions are extremely hostile due to biting cold and snowfall in Kashmir. “Moreover, Students cannot afford boarding and lodging as well as travelling expenses,” he added and demanded that NTA should arrange examination centres in Jammu division to facilitate the students of Jammu or else arrange boarding lodging and also bear travelling expenses for smooth conduct of NET examination.
