JAMMU, Dec 2: Up in arms against alleged discriminatory approach of J&K Public Service Commission towards Jammu region, National Secular Forum (NSF) today continued its protest and demanded separate PSC for Jammu.
Led by Dr Vikas Sharma, State president of NSF, the protesters held a strong protest demonstration amidst raising of slogans against the PSC. They also demanding fixed quota of seats for the candidates from Jammu, Ladakh and Kashmir so that PSC may not favour its blue eyed from a particular region.
While addressing the gathering Vikas Sharma alleged that blue eyed candidates were being recruited by the PSC at the instance of State Government thus causing resentment among the deserving educated unemployment youth. He alleged that in the various selection list of the different subjects, preference was given to the candidates belonging to the Kashmir region.
“Out of the total 34 posts of Assistant Professor in History, 24 candidates have been selected from Kashmir and only 8 from Jammu. In the RBA category, out of total of 09 posts, 06 candidates are from Kashmir province while 03 are from Jammu,” he informed and added that out of total 05 posts of Assistant Professor in Bio-Chemistry, all candidates have been selected from Kashmir while in the RBA category, candidates are from Kashmir province have been selected against both the posts.
Similarly, he further said, for both the posts of Assistant Professor in Home Science, candidates from Kashmir have been selected while one post in the RBA category has also gone to Kashmir. “Out of total posts of 42 of Assistant Professor in Computer Application, 24 candidates have been selected from Kashmir and 18 candidates from Jammu while in the RBA category, all 04 posts have gone to candidates from Kashmir province. In Physics, out of total 26 posts of Assistant Professor, 19 candidates have been selected from Kashmir and 7 candidates from Jammu. 71 candidates have been selected in English from Kashmir division and 30 candidates from Jammu division, out of total 101 posts. Same is the status of selection list of Mathematics subject in which maximum selected candidates are from Kashmir,” Vikas informed.
The NSF leader alleged that the educated youth of Jammu were being discriminated under the rules of BJP and his organization has decided to create mass awareness amongst student fraternity for launching an agitation to seek justice for educated youth of Jammu.
Seeking rectification in the selection lists of Assistant Professors, Vikas Sharma said that due care needs to be taken in maintaining parity while filling remaining advertised posts of Assistant Professors in other subjects.
