JAMMU, June 15: National Secular Forum (NSF) has expressed its anguish over unprecedented delay in appointment of new Vice-Chancellors in both the Central Universities of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a letter flashed to the President of India, NSF President Dr Vikas Sharma sought his kind attention towards the imperative need of appointing full-time Vice Chancellors in both the Central Universities and called for action by the concerned on top priority basis.
“The posts of VCs are of great importance for giving renewed impetus to the academic ambience and smooth functioning of Universities for taking them to new heights of excellence. NSF is of the firm view that appointments of new VCs at CUJ and CUK will boost long pending developmental works and shall instill a new lease of life to these Central Universities, reads the letter.
The letter further states that not only the students are suffering but many developmental works are also stalled because of the vacant top posts.
