JAMMU, Oct 17: National Secular Forum today charged the UT Government with failure to get the suitable replacement of Manoj Dhar and Ashok Aima, who are still continuing as Vice Chancellors of Jammu University and Central University of Jammu, respectively despite completion of their tenure since long.
Talking to media persons, here today, NSF President Dr Vikas Sharma expressed deep concern over uncertainty being allowed by the Government on the appointments of appropriate persons to man the posts of Vice Chancellor University of Jammu and Central University, Jammu.
“Tenures of Manoj Dhar and Ashok Aima stand expired since long, but, unfortunately both of them are still occupying the Chairs with Government behaving like a mute spectator,” he added.
Dr Vikas said that the appointment of Prof Sanjeev Jain was notified as Vice Chancellor of Central University Jammu on July 19, 2021, but he has not joined so far while the Chair of VC CUJ is being continuously occupied by a person with expired tenure since long. “If Prof Jain is unwilling to join as VC CUJ, the Government should pick up next person from the panel,” he added.
