NPSU threatens to approach court against ban on internet service

JAMMU, July 13: Alleging that students and general public faced lot of problems because of ban on mobile internet service in Jammu, National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) has threatened to approach court if Government does not lift the ban immediately.
Addressing a press conference, here today, the NPSU State president Thakur Virender Singh lambasted the State Government and local administration for banning mobile internet in the Jammu province without any reason.
“Due to this ban, the telecommunication companies, which are providing mobile internet service, are making huge profit as the service is not being utilized by the users while the money spent on internet packs goes to companies without any return,” he explained.
Mr Singh asked ban on internet service in Kashmir can be understood as there has been law and order problem, but why is the same orderbeing enforced in Jammu province where there is no problem and people are living with harmony? .
The NPSU leader said that the ban on internet service has disturbed the studies of students, specially those who are preparing for competitive exams and pursuing online studies.
Further, he added, the students who are going to appear in higher studies are suffering a lot because of the fact that the list of admissions are updated online and some students have to take online admissions in higher studies.
