The protest was led by NPSU president Thakur Virender Singh.  A number of NPSU activists assembled near Press Club Jammu and torched the effigy of BJP-PDP Government amidst raising of slogans against the State Government.
While addressing the gathering, Virender Singh said that the nationalist people of Jammu have always served the nation in best possible ways and have sacrificed their lives for the motherland. “However,  the State Government implicates these nationalist youth in Police cases while youth of Kashmir, who pose threat to the national security and throw stones on security forces, are given jobs and relaxations,” he alleged and demanded
Withdrawal of FIRs against the youth of Jammu who were fighting for their rights during various agitations.
“If the Government talks about equality between the two provinces, then the FIRs lodged against the youth of Jammu must be withdrawn also as their offences are nothing as compared to the youth of Kashmir,” he further said.
The NPSU leader warned that if the State Government does not concede their demand and withdraw cases against Jammu youth, there would be a mass agitation against the State Government.
Others, who spoke during the protest demonstration, included Lovely Singh, Chetan Sharma, Avdesh, Prianshu, Himanshi, Mohit and Raman.
