Poonch, Dec 11: Police in Poonch district have arrested a notorious thief involved in various offences of carrying out thefts in religious places.
Police said that a case in FIR199/2020 under section 454, 380 IPC was registered in Poonch Police Station following theft incident in a Gurudwara in Poonch.
During investigation, CCTV footage was closely examined and a suspect Nikhal Sharma, son of Shashi Pal, resident of Power House Mohalla, Poonch was identified and detained for questioning.
He confessed his involvement in theft case besides similar such incidents of thefts including in Ram Mandir Poonch, Gurudwara Singh Saba and Anupurana Devi Mandir. He has been arrested.
