KISHTWAR, Jan 30: Police here today arrested a notorious drug smuggler and recovered 120 banned capsules from him.
The smuggler has been identified as Mohd. Ashraf, son of Mohd. Iqbal, resident of Khara Bhalessa, at present Wasserkund, Kishtwar.
SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal said that information was received regarding sale and consumption of banned drugs at Bus Stand Kishtwar after which a team of Kishtwar Police led by Inspector Abid Bukhari under the supervision of Dy.SP Headquarters Kishtwar, Ashish Gupta laid a Naka.
During Naka checking cops noticed suspicious moment of man who tried to flee after seeing cops but the alert cops overpowered him. During his search cops recovered 120 psychotropic capsules and he was arrested.
A case in FIR No. 17/2023 U/Sec 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar in this regard and investigation started.
