Srinagar, June 7: Government today said foreigners putting up in Jammu including displaced Rohingya Muslims were here only to earn livelihood by performing various works and there has been no reports of the radicalisation against them.
In a written reply to a question of Pawan Kumar Gupta in Lower House, Minister Incharge Home said no report regarding radicalisation of the Rohingyas as in the State has been received so far.
“One Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) working under the title Sakhawat run by Mohammad-ul-Umar of Srinagar along with Dr Rashid who resides in Vidhata Nagar Bathindi Jammu and NGO namely S.R. Institute of Development based at Rambagh Srinagar have been helping the Rohingyas in cash and kind from time to time,” the Minister said.
“No reports of radicalisation have been reported so far but a strong vigil is being kept on the activities of the foreigners/ Rohingyas to avoid any untoward incident,” he added.
