No proposal to develop ancient temples under Border Tourism: Govt

Srinagar, June 7: Government today said it has no proposal with the Tourism Department to develop ancient temples like Burj Mandir, Suie Mandir and Talli Mata Madir in Marh under Border Tourism Development.
In a written reply to a question of Chowdhary Sukhnandan in Lower House, Minister Incharge Tourism said presently there is no proposal with the department to develop ancient temples like Burj Mandir, Suie Mandir and Talli Mata Madir in Marh under Border Tourism Development.
“However, the department is aimed to promote heritage tourism in J&K and to take all measures for preservation and conservation. Ancient temples like Burj Mandir, Suie Mandir, and Talli Mata Mandir are not declared as state protected monuments under ambits of Ancient Monument Preservation Act-1920 and Amendment Act-2010.The steps are being taken to identify and preserve scattered heritage to develop the heritage tourism in J&K,” the Minister said.
