No more special incentive for population control

JAMMU, Jan 28: Government of Jammu and Kashmir has discontinued special incentive available to employees of the J&K Union Territory for adopting small family norm and undergoing sterilization operation.
According to a Government order in this regard, the special incentive available to employees of J&K UT in the form of Personal Pay for undergoing sterilization operation in terms of Government Instruction number 5 below Article 74 of J&K Civil Services Regulation, is hereby withdrawn with immediate effect.
The relevant provisions of J&K Civil Services Regulations Volume -I shall stand amended accordingly, further read the Government order number 30-F of 2020, issued on January 24, 2020 by the Finance Department.
The special incentive has been discontinued in light of recommendations of 7th Central Pay Commission that abolished Family Planning Allowance.
While the Central Government had implemented the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission regarding abolition of Family Planning Allowance to Central Government employees in July 2017, the employees in UT of J&K were still getting this special incentive.
