JAMMU, Apr 8: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today urged the Chief Minister to release the pending installment of 6 per cent DA due from January this year in favour of Government employees and pensioners.
In a statement, Subash Shastri, president, NMC said that in view of increasing prices of the essential commodities, DA installment has become more necessary and the Government should release the same at the earliest.
He expressed concern over inordinate delay in merger of 50 per cent DA into basic pay and pension which forms part of the recommendations of the 4th Pay Commission implemented since January 1986.
He said that the Government is bound to merge DA into basic pay and pension and constitute fresh commission on agreed principles.
Shastri demanded regularization of 61000 daily wagers, pension benefits to employees of PSUs, regularize services of motivators working in watershed project at Akhnoor besides release of salaries, release of wages of daily wagers of Social Forestry Project, issuance of regularization orders of 180 daily wagers of RDD and enhancement of wages of daily wagers to Rs 10,000 per month, increase of medical allowance to Rs 1000 per month, removal of all pay anomalies of clerical cadre in SRO 93 and provide special funds to various department of the State Government for disbursement of their pending wagers.
