JAMMU, Dec 5: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to immediately convene Chief Ministers’ meeting of those States who are dependent on Central grants for running their day to day business including State of Jammu & Kashmir.
Addressing a well attended workers’ meet at Kanjli last evening, NMC president, Subhash Shastri highlighted the issue of delay in implementation of the 7th Pay Commission (PC) recommendations, adding that several States will find it nearly impossible to share the burden of hugely accumulated arrears to their employees and pensioners due to which implementation of these recommendations get further delayed.
“Central Government should come to the rescue of these States including the State of J&K so that those can also implement 7th PC recommendations”, he said and hoped that sufficient provisions will also be kept in the upcoming budget to be presented by Finance Minister for regularization of nearly 61000 daily rated workers and implementation of 7th PC in one go.
