RAMBAN, Mar 12: A free medical camp was organized by NHPC Sawalkote Hydroelectric Project under CSR at Dharamkund.
Sawalkote HE Project (1856 MW) is the largest hydropower project in J&K being developed by NHPC. A team of doctors and paramedical staff was deputed by CMO, Ramban, on the instructions of DC Ramban, for the camp.
The Camp was inaugurated by H Bulchandani, Group General Manager and Head of Sawalkote HE Project in presence of senior officials, local dignitaries and villagers. Speaking on the occasion, Bulchandani emphasized on the need for maintaining good health and hygiene to protect oneself from various diseases including Covid and flu, which is quite prevalent these days.
He stated that the main objective of such camps is to make local people aware of health & hygiene issues and encourage them to lead healthy life. He further mentioned that through medical camps and many other activities to follow, NHPC shall continue with the welfare measures in respect of the local population.
A team of doctors from NHPC comprising Dr RS Rathi (CMO), Dr Karmvir Hans (Deputy CMO) and medical team from Government Medical Division including Dr Auqib Najam (Medical Officer) and other paramedical staff of NHPC and Government Medical Division (Chanderkot, Batote and Dharamkund), district Ramban examined about 210 local male and female patients in the free medical camp.
While focusing on seasonal diseases, doctors and their team examined BP, Pulse, Oxygen Saturation level, etc and provided necessary health consultations, medicines, sanitizers and masks, free of cost. Through this health camp, people were also made aware of the need to follow the Covid and flu appropriate behaviour and cleanliness practices.
