KATHUA, Mar 30: NHPC through its Sewa II Power Station distributed scholarships to over 56 students of Basholi and Bani blocks of Kathua during the current financial year. At a programme organised in Govt. Higher Secondary School Bani, Bikram Singh, Chief Engineer incharge distributed the scholarships to needy and deserving students in the presence of School Principal Sheikh Mohd. Hafiz, Senior Officers of NHPC and school staff & students.
While addressing the gathering of over 500 people, the CE informed that MLA Bani, Jeevan Lal was supposed to distribute the scholarships however owing to his extremely busy schedule in the month of March he could not make it to the function. He complimented the MLA Bani for his valuable inputs & suggestions to NHPC for various works related to the welfare of the local people of Bani.
The Principal also immensely complimented NHPC for the distribution of scholarships as well as for the construction of eight urinals for the welfare of more than 1000 students of the school as well as Government Degree College Bani. The CE & NHPC officers interacted with the school students and staff members and listened their suggestions for the betterment of the school. The Principal also requested NHPC for some more developmental works to be undertaken during the next financial year.
