NH blocked during anti-PDD protest

UDHAMPUR, June 20: Locals of village Ritti, Malhar and adjoining hamlets near here today staged a protest demonstration against the Power Development Department (PDD) and blocked National Highway (NH).
The protesters claimed that that their villages are not getting proper power supply in this scorching summer and this has been happening for the last one month.
The protesters blocked the NH and raised slogans against PDD.
They alleged that PDD has failed to ensure regular supply of electricity to their villages and demanded two high power transformers in their villages.
They also said that during the present lockdown, students are having online education using computers, smart phones and tabs which depend on electricity.
Later, the PDD officials and SHO Rehambal, Virender Gupta reached the spot and pacified the protestors by assuring that their genuine demands will be fulfilled.
After this the protesters lifted their protest.
Anita Kumari, Sarpanch Malhar Lower; Ward No. 1 Panch, Suresh Kumar; Varinder Singh and others were present in the protest.
