Suicide bid foiled

Excelsior Correspondent KISHTWAR, July 2: Hidyal Police foiled suicide bid. As per police sources, a team from Police Post Hidyal led by PSI Manmeet Singh alongwith his team today saved precious life of a lady, who was about to jump into the river Chenab near Bimarnag here to commit suicide. Enquiry into the matter is going on to ascertain the facts behind this suicide bid. SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Batt has expressed the serious concern over the rising number of suicide attempts in Kishtwar, mostly by women folk and has appealed to the public that everyone should come forward and put forth the grievances pertaining to domestic violence. People should forward their grievances to Women Help Desk functioning 24x7 at each Police Station of District Kishtwar, he added.
