Prof Ashok Aima appointed as member of ICCR

Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Apr 1: The Vice Chancellor of Central University of Jammu,  Prof  Ashok Aima,  has been appointed as member of prestigious Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) by  C Rajasekhar, Director General, ICCR, New Delhi. While reconstituting  General Assembly and General Body of the  ICCR on Thursday, the Director  has conveyed his decision of appointing Prof  Ashok Aima as member ICCR. Prof  Ashok Aima has accepted the offer of appointment. The ICCR was founded in 1950 by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, independent India's first Education Minister. Its objectives are to actively participate in the formulation and implementation of policies and programmes pertaining to India's external cultural relations; to foster and strengthen cultural relations and mutual understanding between India and other countries; to promote cultural exchanges with other countries and people; and to develop relations with nations.
