Lok Adalat awards more than Rs 28 lakh compensation

Excelsior CorrespondentJAMMU, Apr 30: A Lok Adalat was held in the District Court Complex Kathua under the chairmanship of M K Hanjura, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Principal District and Sessions Judge) Kathua.The bench comprising of M K Hanjura, Chairman District Legal Services Authority and S C Katal, Chief Judicial Magistrate, decided 8 cases of Motor Accident claims on the spot and an amount of Rs 28,28,000 was awarded in the favour of claimants.Another Lok Adalat was organized at District Court Complex Ramban. A bench comprising M A Chowdhary, Principal District and Sessions Judge, M R Chak, Sub-Judge (CJM) Ramban and Arun Kotwal Munsiff Ramban disposed of six cases by mediation and reconciliation.
