L & T gets order worth Rs 1252 cr

MUMBAI, Nov 5: Infrastructure major L&T Construction has bagged a major order worth Rs 1252 crore from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).The order will be executed as a joint venture with Shanghai UrbanConstruction Group (SUCG).It will design and construct a tunnel between Shankar Vihar andHauz Khas as well as underground stations at Vasant Vihar, Munirka,R.K.Puram, IIT and Hauz Khas, a statement issued by the company said.L&T Construction�s share in the project is Rs 852 crore. Anotherorder includes Rs 644 crore contract secured by the Buildings & Factories IC for construction of a permanent campus facility for IIT, Hyderabad.The scope of works include construction of engineering blocks, faculty and staff housing, student hostels, dining halls includingancillary and other associated works, the statement added.
