J&K player secures Silver medals in National Amateur

Excelsior Sports CorrespondentJAMMU, Nov 16: J&K Chess player Soham Kamotra (14) won Silver medal in National Amateur, which concluded today at Jalandhar.Kamotra was tied for the first spot with other player at same 9 points but unfortunately he came second on tie breaker rules and secured Silver medal.A total of 154 players from 18 States participated in this National Amateur. He is the most promising boy of J&K as he won the State Chess Championship recently at Srinagar.President All J&K Chess Association Atul Kumar and other members congratulated him for wonderful achievement and hoped that J&K players bring more and more laurels to the State in future also. He is student of DPS Jammu. Another player of J&K Sumit Grover got 8th position in this event.
