Indian companies to promote their product in Sri Lanka

COLOMBO, July 26: Around 100 Indian companies will be participating in an exhibition here next month organised to promote Indian investment in Sri Lanka, an official said today.�The India show � land of limitless opportunities is to be held in Colombo early August. Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma will also attend the exhibition,� Indian officials here said.The show to be held between 3-5 August is being organized with the aim of promoting Indian technology and services, as a platform for Indian companies to showcase their excellence, and to promote Indian investment in Sri Lanka.Bilateral trade grew by 65 per cent in 2011 to reach USD 5 billion. The exhibition will be followed by a business conference.Some of the key sectors to be represented at the exhibition are: automotive, engineering, science & technology, petroleum & natural gas, service sectors, food & beverage, telecom, handicrafts.The event is being organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) with the support of Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, India Brand Equity Foundation (IBEF), High Commission of India and the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, Colombo.
