Indian challenge ends as Abhay loses in world junior squash

CHENNAI:��The Indian challenge in the WSF- World junior squash championship in Tauranga, New Zealand, ended with the defeat of Abhay Singh in the quarterfinals, today.

���� Singh, India's top junior and seeded in the five to eight bracket, went down 11-8, 4-11, 6-11, 6-11 to Egyptian Marwan Tarek, a press release from SRFI stated.

���� Tarek had earlier beaten another Indian Yash Fadte in the third round.

���� Singh will now play in the 5th-8th place matches.

���� India will take part in the girls' team event which commences on July 25.

���� Concurrently, a separate international boys Test series involving India, Australia, Malaysia, South Africa and New Zealand would also be held at the same venue. (AGENCIES)
