Four vehicles seized for illegal mining

Excelsior Correspondent SAMBA, Mar 10: In continuation to its drive against illegal mining and illegal transportation of construction material, Samba police seized four vehicles including two Dumpers and two Tractor-Trollies which were being used for illegal mining and transportation of the construction material. Acting on reliable information regarding illegal mining/transportation of construction material (sand) from Basantar River-Bed, a team of police station Samba rushed to the spot and seized two Tractor-Trolleys which were without registration numbers and were illegally engaged in mining/transportation of construction material. Similarly, a team of police station Ghagwal while performing routine vehicle checking at naka NHW, Tapyal seized two Dumpers having registration numbers JK02CK-0975 and JK02CB-7063 for illegal transportation of construction material (Bajri). Both the cases were entrusted to Geology & Mining Department, Samba for further action.
