4 jawans hurt as vehicle falls into gorge

Excelsior CorrespondentMENDHAR, July 11: Four soldiers were injured, one of them seriously, after an Army vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in forward area of Balakote� in district Poonch today.Defence sources said that the mishap took place� at around 12.15 pm when the 2.5 ton Army vehicle� was moving to a nearby 49 RR unit in Sandot area. The road was slippery� due to rain and� the driver failed to control it at a bad road patch. The vehicle landed into nearly 50 feet deep gorge causing injuries to all the four soldiers on board.All the injured were rushed to the unit hospital in� the area from where seriously injured Sepoy Lukman was referred to Military Hospital, Rajouri. Three other injured soldiers are identified as Sepoy Pardesi, Sep� Rajiv Kumar and Sep Sundra Murty.
