Excelsior CorrespondentNEW DELHI, Jan 23 : Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh said here today that 2020 - Indias biggest asset is its youth resource.Addressing the Student Parliament of the reputed Hindu College, as chief guest at the College Annual Conclave Vaktavya 2020 here today, Dr Jitendra Singh said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set before us the goal of 5 trillion US dollar economy. He said, the confidence to achieve this goal is inspired by the energy, potential and capability of the youth, who comprise more than 65% of Indias population today, which makes India one of the biggest youth resource pools in the world. While observing that the present generation of youth was born at a time when India is on the verge of emerging on the top, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the difference between youth of present generation and the youth of his generation is that, when he was a student, India enjoyed very little recognition in the outside world, but for todays youth as a student, the greatest advantage is that India today is the essential nucleus of contemporary world.Describing todays youth as the privileged Start-Ups of Global India and the torch - bearers of Modis New India, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the best way one can serve the country and the best way of being of optimum utility for the country is to have a commitment, focus and sincerity of purpose in whatever pursuit each one of us is engaged. This, he said, comes when one realises the esteem of doing what one is doing and develops the passion or Junoon for doing what one is doing. While it is important to focus on ones career building, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the optimal outcomes remain under-achieved if aptitude is overtaken by career. It is, therefore, at the first instance, important for each one of us to realise what one is best at doing and what one enjoys doing the most, he added.
