KATHMANDU, Jul 8: Nepal Prime Minister Balendra Shah on Wednesday said his government will create an investment-friendly environment and remove policy hurdles to strengthen the country's economic activities and allow the smooth operation of businesses.

The prime minister said this during a discussion with representatives of the private sector on issues of industry, trade, investment environment and economic reforms.

Shah said the private sector is an important partner of the government in the country's economic development, investment expansion, employment creation and production growth.

He assured the private sector representatives that the government was ready to resolve the problems facing the industrialists and entrepreneurs.

Shah also expressed his commitment to policy, legal and administrative reforms.

Representatives of the private sector advised the prime minister to create a conducive environment for industries and businesses, promote private investment, maintain policy-level stability, and simplify service delivery.

They also advised regular and result-oriented dialogue between the government and the private sector. (PTI)
