NC’s one-upmanship hurting cause of unity in Kashmir: Faesal

SRINAGAR, Aug 3: Hitting out at National Conference for refusing to be a part of the All Party Delegation that met Governor Satya Pal Malik on Friday in the backdrop of panic created due to rumours about deterioration of situation in Kashmir, J&K Peoples Movement president Shah Faesal on Saturday said that NC’s one-upmanship is hurting the cause of unity in the valley.
Meanwhile, questioning the logic of NC delegation meeting the Prime Minister first and then seeking answer from the Governor about the situation in the valley, Mr Faesal, who is a former IAS officer, said it should have been vice versa.
“NC’s one-upmanship is hurting the cause of unity in Kashmir. NC has emerged as an obstacle to the cause of unity in Kashmir. It is unfortunate that at a time when state is facing an existential threat, NC leadership is still busy in point scoring,” he alleged after NC Vice President Omar Abdullah addressed a press conference after meeting the Governor on Saturday.
“I am surprised that they (NC) first met the PM and then are expecting answers from the Governor when it should have been the vice versa,” he added.
Mr Faesal further said that the people will never forgive the mainstream leadership of the State if all political parties do not unite in this moment of crisis.
